[ARCHIVED] All Together Now - Summer Reading Programs

2023 Summer Reading - June 5 to July 29

When the bell rings signaling the end of the school year, students of all ages can’t afford to take long breaks from reading. Studies show youth who don’t read over the summer, especially reluctant or struggling readers, lose important ground. One of the best places for children to become comfortable and fluent with reading is at your local library.

Beginning June 5, we invite readers of all ages to join this year’s All Together Now summer reading program to prevent the summer reading slide. For children, tweens, and teens, reading will be tracked using, using Beanstack, a reading tracker app, and prizes will be awarded after each milestone reached. Adults can participate in summer reading as well, and this year we've set a goal of reading 500 books all together as a community. Books read will also be logged using Beanstack and prizes awarded every other week. Visit our Reading Programs page for more information on our summer reading programs and how to create an account with Beanstack.

View our calendar of events for programs for all ages, including Terrific Tuesdays for children, which kicks off on June 6, at 11:00 AM with Fritzy Brothers Circus, a one man circus featuring juggling, balloons, and magic. Events for all will be held throughout the summer and include Into the Spider-Verse Party for tweens and teens, Intro to Line Dancing for everyone, and a greatest hits rock show with the Creatures of Habit.

There's something for everyone at your local library!
