    This class uses the support of a chair to do the same poses we do in a traditional yoga class. It helps with mobility and stability and is gentle yet gives you a thorough workout without feeling like a chore. We spend about 15 minutes doing seated stretching poses, the some standing work, using the chair to support our balance. The last part of the class is lying on the floor to experience deeper twists and stretching to enjoy a sense of peacefulness and rest.

  30. Yoga for Strength & Balance

    This class will focus on developing core strength in the arms, legs, back and abdominal muscles. Students will work hard, holding poses for 5 breaths, increasing stability and endurance, practicing balance poses, and stretching and lengthening large muscle groups. This class is suitable for all persons, beginners included. Students learn modifications for the different poses while they are working toward mastering them.

  31. Chair and Mat Yoga

    February 25, 10:45 AM - 11:30 AM @ Community Center

    This class uses the support of a chair to do the same poses we do in a traditional yoga class. It helps with mobility and stability and is gentle yet gives you a thorough workout without feeling like a chore. We spend about 15 minutes doing seated stretching poses, the some standing work, using the chair to support our balance. The last part of the class is lying on the floor to experience deeper twists and stretching to enjoy a sense of peacefulness and rest.

    This invigorating class is designed for a lower intensity workout while still burning those pesky calories. The Zumba formula and modifies the moves and pacing to suit the needs of the active older adult, as well as those just starting their journey to a fit and healthy lifestyle. Chair use is available if needed. We dance our way to healthier hearts and waistlines.
