Children's Singer & Songwriter, Roger Day: (All Ages) Wednesday, October 22, 4:00 pm. Encouraging kids to sing loud, jump high, and dream big, two-time Parents Choice Award-winner, Roger Day, will perform courtesy of Ruth Eckerd Hall. Join us for a witty and whimsical musical show that incorporates science and fun!

Homework Help:
(Grades 2-8) Mondays and Tuesdays, 4:00 - 6:00 pm.  Bright Futures Scholarship students will be at the library to tutor and assist students with their homework. Tutoring is provided first come, first served.

Starlight Puppet Show: (Ages 10 and under) Tuesday, September 30, 7:00 pm. Come in your pajamas and snuggle down with your favorite blanket or stuffed animal for 30 minutes of puppet stories.

Music & Movement- Ballet: (Ages 4-9) Friday, October 10, 4:00 pm. An introductory ballet class taught by a certified instructor from Body Altitudes. Registration required.

Sunshine State Book Talk: (Grades 3-5) Sunday, October 19, 2:00 pm. Join a library staff member in a book discussion of two Sunshine State books. This month's books are Hooper Finds a Family and Rump: The True Story of Rumplestiltskin.

Preschool Halloween Party: (Ages 5 & under) Friday, October 31, 11:00 am.
Join us for spooky stories, songs, games, snacks, a monster mash and other fun activities. Come dressed in your Halloween costume!

Harry Potter Party: (All ages) Friday, October 31, 3:00-5:30 pm. Dress up as your favorite Harry Potter character, enjoy themed snacks and crafts, and watch the first movie Harry Potter and the Socerer's Stone!

Seasonal Puppet Stories and Craft: (Ages 3-8) Saturday, November 8, 10:30 am. The Suncoast Waldorf School proudly presents Spindlewood, with master puppeteer, Connie Manson. Spindlewood takes the audience on a magical journey to Mother Earth's Kingdom where children discover where gnomes and fairies go during the winter time. (The first show in a three part seasonal series.)

Book-a-Trip: Culture and Crafts for Kids: (Ages 4-10) Re-scheduled for Tuesday, November 25, 11:00 am. Explore the culture of Spain through crafts, games, music and food. Registration required.

Toddler Story Time:
(Ages 19 months - 3 years) Mondays, 10:30 - 11:15am.
Young ones will be introduced to language and literature as they listen to nursery rhymes and stories, sing songs, and do fingerplays. A simple craft or coloring sheet is offered after story time.

Preschool Story Time:
(Ages 2 -6 years) Wednesdays, 10:30 - 11:15am. Your preschooler will develop listening and early literacy skills while participating in an interactive story time with books, songs, and dance. A make-and-take craft is offered after story time.

Baby & Me Story Time: (Ages birth -18 months) Fridays, 10:00 - 10:30am. Enjoy special bonding time with your baby, listen to a few simple stories, sing songs to your baby, do fingerplays, knee bouncers, bubble time and end with a play session!

Tuesday Crafternoon: (Ages 4-10) Tuesday, October 21, 3:30 pm. Children can enjoy themed crafts and a story. Paint and decorate a pumpkin at the library in October! Registration is required.

November 18, 3:30 pm. Join us for a Thanksgiving story, and then get crafty while making dreamcatchers and placemats! Registration is required.

Wee Sing: (Ages 1-5) Every Tuesday at 10:00 am. Learn familiar songs with a twist! This program incorporates foreign and sign language, music sticks, and more for an interactive, musical learning experience.
 
Space is limited to 30 children. Please be prompt or your reservation will be given to others if you arrive more than 10 minutes late.

Story Yoga: (Ages 3-10) Wednesday, October 1 & November 5, 4:00 pm.  Kids can enjoy fun animal and nature poses, partner games, songs, interactive stories, music and movement! The benefits of yoga for children include: improved flexibility, concentration, patience, balance, and muscle strength. Don't forget to wear stretchy clothes and please bring a mat or beach towel.  Please call to register.

Family Musical Yoga: (All ages) Friday, October 17 & November 21, 4:00 pm. Parents, grandparents, care-givers and children are invited to stretch, move, breathe, and make music together. No prior yoga experience necessary!  Please call to register.

Lego League: (Ages 3 years and up) Saturdays, 3:00 – 4:30 pm and 3:00 - 4:30 pm the fourth Wednesday of the month. Bring your friends and join us for creative building with Legos.

Zumba Kids: (Ages 4-12) Thursday, October 16 & November 20, 4:00 pm.  Boys and Girls are invited to Shake, Wiggle, and Giggle during this crazy cool dance fitness program, with Instructor Tiffany Palmer Godfrey. Kids will be introduced to World Rhythms such as Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia, Reggaeton, Hip-hop and more. Parents love Zumba Kids because it increases their child’s focus, self-confidence, coordination, and metabolism, and kids love it because it’s FUN!
 No registration required.

Children's "Drive-In" Movie: Wednesday, October 8, 3:00 pm. Children can use library boxes to create their own "cars" and then enjoy the "drive-in" movie showing of Legends of Oz! Take your car home to continue the fun! Ages 10 and under.

November 12, 3:30 pm. (Ages 12 and under) Watch the story of sleeping beauty in Maleficent (2014), starring Angelina Jolie and Elle Fanning.

Free popcorn and drink provided!

A Dog is a READER’S Best Friend! These dogs are specially trained to listen patiently while a child practices reading and gains more confidence. Each reader will earn a Pawsome Reader Certificate!

Read to Oliver!: Friday, October 17, 3:00 pm. Oliver, the super fuzzy Spitz, is a calm, experienced and adorable therapy dog trained by Therapy Dogs, International. Oliver looks forward to meeting all the kid's and helping them practice their reading skills! Woof!

Children’s Sign Language Course:
(Ages 4-12) Classes will be held on Mondays at 4:30 pm. ASL course that includes Sign Language vocabulary, stories and crafts or activities for children. Call the Deaf Services Office at 727-724-1525 extension 4120 to register.

Infant/Toddler Sign Language Course: (ages 0-3) Classes will be held on Thursdays at 10:30 am.  These fun and interactive signing classes will teach you how to include signs naturally while interacting with your child through daily routines, playtime, story time and music. Call the Deaf Services Office at 727-724-1525 extension 4120 to register.
