Books & Bagels Book Club: Tuesday, November 18, 10:30 am.  Join us for our new morning book club right here at the library.  Enjoy bagels and coffee as we discuss a great book.  November's title is the The Other Typist, by Suzanne Rindell.  Limited copies of the book are available at the library.

Safety Harbor History and Ghost Walking Tour:  Thursday, October 23 & Tuesday, October 28, 7:00 pm.  Presented by Yellow Snow Productions, the tour will last two hours and provide insight into paranormal life and explore the unique history of Safety Harbor. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.  REGISTRATION IS CLOSED.

Wine Tasting with Jon Marshall: Thursday, October 30, 6:30 pm.  Join us for a wine tasting at the library.  Sample new flavors and learn the 4 S's of wine from wine expert and owner of www.JonsWine.com, Jon Marshall.  Jon Marshall will be your guide to limited production, Napa Valley, artisan wines by an award winning winemaker.  Over 21 only.  Limited to 40 people.  Registration required. Japanese Art Demonstration: Sunday, November 2, 2:00 pm.  International Japanese artists Koki Sugita and Keisuke Teshima will demonstrate the art of Single Stroke Dragon painting and traditional Japanese calligraphy techniques.

Honor Flight - A Celebration of Veterans:  Thursday, November 6, 6:00 pm.  Special guest veterans and civilians will speak of their experiences during World War II and other wars prior to the documentary Honor Flight: One Last Mission.

Patrick Smith - A Land Remembered: Thursday, November 13, 6:30 pm.  Rick Smith delights audiences with a multimedia show about his father and his famous book, A Land Remembered.

Safety Harbor International Film Series:  Sunday November 16, 1:30 pm.  Join us for a genre-twisting film to discover the secrets behind a family of storytellers.  Rated PG-13.  Starring Michael Polley & Harry Gulkin.

ESOL Conversation Club: Mondays, October 6, 13, 20, & 27, 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm.  Attend the ESOL Conversation Club to brush up on your English in an informal, comfortable session.  Registration required.

Safety Harbor Writers & Poets Library Group: Thursday, October 23, 5:00 pm.  A writers gathering, for those in search of forming or joining a writers' group, connecting to others with similar writing goals, and ideas on how to make their current or future group successful.  Bring something to share if time permits, we will discuss the strengths and how your work may improve.

SCORE: Small Business Counseling: Tuesdays, October 14 & 28.  Appointments available from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm.  Free and confidential small business advice. Sign Up Online.

Tobacco Free Florida - Tools to Quit:  Wednesday, November 12, 6:00 pm.  This smoking cessation program provides guidance on preparing a quitting plan, end cravings, discusses physical and emotional symptoms, and provides free cessation products.

NaNoWriMo Sessions:  Saturday, November 8, 3:00 - 5:00 pm; Thursday, November 20, 5:00 - 8:00 pm; and Sunday, November 30, 1:00 - 5:00 pm.  November is National Novel Writing Month!  You are challenged to complete the first draft of your novel in 30 days.  Stay the entire time for each session or drop in when you can.


Creative Writers Group & Story Circle: Wednesday, November 19, 6:00 pm.  Facilitators Jan Golden and Sheila McNaughton provide lessons, suggestions for topics, and gentle feedback.  This group writes, shares, and encourages each other to preserve their life experiences.
