Books & Bagels Book Club: Tuesday, October 21, 10:30 am.  Join us for our new morning book club right here at the library.  Enjoy bagels and coffee as we discuss a great book.  October's title is the Storied Life of A. J. Fikry, by Gabrielle Zevon.  Limited copies of the book are available at the library.

Friends of the Library Book Sale: Saturday, October 4, 9:00 am - 3:00 pm.  Books, CDs, DVDs, and more.  All items in great condition, most only $1.00.

Citywide Scavenger Hunt:
Saturday, October 18, 11:00 am.  This family-friendly event will start at the library where teams will gather, then collect clues hidden at local businesses, and places in Downtown Safety Harbor.  The hunt is limited to 12 teams of all ages, with at least one adult required per team.  Sign up online now or for more information or to register, call 727-724-1525 x 4112 or email .  Registration closes Friday, October 17th.

Friends Membership Gala Featuring Comedian Juanita Lolita: Thursday, October 16.  Wine and cheese mingle at 6:30 pm.  Show starts at 7:00 pm with the comedian, Juanita Lolita.  The show is free and open to the public.  All renewal and new memberships are entered to win a $25.00 gift card to a local restaurant!

Safety Harbor History and Ghost Walking Tour:
Tuesday, October 14 & 28, 7:00 pm.  Presented by Yellow Snow Productions, the tour will last two hours and provide insight into paranormal life and explore the unique history of Safety Harbor. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.  Registration Required.

Safety Harbor International Film Series:  Sunday October 19, 1:30 pm.  Join us for a film about a foul-tempered Brooklyner who is told he has ninety minutes to live.  He rushes all over New York to make amends.  Starring Robin Williams in one of his last films.  Rated R.

Wine Tasting with Jon Marshall: Thursday, October 30, 6:30 pm.  Join us for a wine tasting at the library.  Sample new flavors and learn the 4 S's of wine from wine expert and owner of, Jon Marshall.  Marshall will be your guide to limited production, Napa Valley, artisan wines by award winning winemaker, Wineshop at Home.  Over 21 only.  Limited to 40 people.

Creative Writers Group & Story Circle: Wednesday, October 15, 6:00 pm.  Facilitators Jan Golden and Sheila McNaughton provide lessons, suggestions for topics, and gentle feedback.  This group writes, shares, and encourages each other to preserve their life experiences.

ESOL Conversation Club: Mondays, October 6, 13, 20, & 27, 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm.  Attend the ESOL Conversation Club to brush up on your English in an informal, comfortable session.  Registration required.

Safety Harbor Writers & Poets Library Group: Thursday, October 23, 6:00 pm.  A writers gathering, for those in search of forming or joining a writers' group, connecting to others with similar writing goals, and ideas on how to make their current or future group successful.  Bring something to share if time permits, we will discuss the strengths and how your work may improve.

Tobacco Free Florida: Tools to Quit:
Saturday, October 4, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm.  This smoking cessation program provides guidance on preparing a quitting plan, end cravings, discusses physical and emotional symptoms, and provides free cessation products.  To participate, please be ready to set a quit date 2-3 weeks after class.  Registration required.

Mullet Creek Park Little Library
Build a Little Free Library for Safety Harbor: The Safety Harbor Library is looking for talented carpenters & artistic people to create Little Free Libraries.  Business sponsorships encouraged. Little Free Libraries are neighborhood works of art housing free books, using the take a book, leave a book concept.  They are approximately 20” wide by 15” deep by 18” high and on a sturdy post or secure foundation.  For more information on Little Free Libraries and available building plans, visit
