Responsibilities
The Finance Department is responsible for the financial transactions of the city. Major functions include:
- Accounts Payable
- Budgeting - Forecasting the revenues and expenditures for the upcoming year
- Annual Comprehensive Financial Report
- Finance Advisory Committee - This committee monitors budgets, operations and identifies issues for City Commission consideration
- Financial Management - Recording and reporting all financial functions of the City
- Fixed Asset Management
- Information Systems - Responsible for providing computer services for the entire citywide system, including:
- Data security
- File maintenance
- Networking
- Office automation technology
- Operation
- P.C. integration
- Printing
- Remote communication
- Systems backup and recovery
- Systems management
- User training
- Investments
- Payroll
- Purchasing
- Utility Billing - Monthly billing for water, sewer, sanitation, stormwater service and meter reading operations
