Responsibilities


The Finance Department is responsible for the financial transactions of the city. Major functions include:

  • Accounts Payable
  • Budgeting - Forecasting the revenues and expenditures for the upcoming year
  • Annual Comprehensive Financial Report
  • Finance Advisory Committee - This committee monitors budgets, operations and identifies issues for City Commission consideration
  • Financial Management - Recording and reporting all financial functions of the City
  • Fixed Asset Management
  • Information Systems - Responsible for providing computer services for the entire citywide system, including:
    • Data security
    • File maintenance
    • Networking
    • Office automation technology
    • Operation
    • P.C. integration
    • Printing
    • Remote communication
    • Systems backup and recovery
    • Systems management
    • User training
  • Investments
  • Payroll
  • Purchasing
  • Utility Billing - Monthly billing for water, sewer, sanitation, stormwater service and meter reading operations
