Summer Reading Challenges All Ages
Beanstack is a free online service that offers an innovative new way to connect children and their families with books and educational reading activities that match each person’s interests, age, and reading level. It also includes book and activity logging, badges, and registration for all members of the family under one account. Simply register one time to participate in library sponsored reading programs and activities all year round!

How Do I Start?
To get the most out of your reading experience, we recommend that you create a Beanstack account. Parents can also create accounts for their children. In Beanstack, you can view the available activities, enter the books you have read, write book reviews and more. You will receive prizes as you progress and be entered into drawings at the end of the program.

To register, visit the Beanstack website or login through the app.

Beanstack will automatically direct you to the appropriate activities based on your age.  There are five age groups: preschool, children, tween, teens, and adult.  In order to be contacted about prizes and drawings, please include an email address and telephone number as part of your Beanstack profile.

Children

Tails and Tales Childrens
The Children’s Tails & Tales Summer Reading Program for ages 5-8 is available June 14 - August 7. Relax with a book this summer and log your reading in the Beanstack app. Receive a prize at 12 and 24 hours. Read a total of 24 hours to be entered into a grand prize drawing. The grand prize includes a $25 gift card, books, event tickets, toys, and more! 
Tween Summer Reading 2021

The Tween Tails & Tales Summer Reading Program for ages 9-12 is available June 14 - August 7. Log minutes read to unlock Logging Badges using the Beanstack app. Collect prizes at 12 and 24 hours read. Log 24 hours of reading to be entered into a raffle for one of the grand prizes. The grand prizes include an Out of Print tote bag, a pair of Out of Print socks, a gift card, books, and more!

1000 Books Before Kindergarten

It's never too early to start your little one on the road to reading! The 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program encourages you to spend time sharing books with your little ones while building critical early literacy skills before he or she starts school. Earn badges along the way to a special completion prize. Start your child’s journey today.

Teens

Tails and Tales Teen Summer Reading
The Tails & Tales Teen Summer Reading Challenge for ages 13-18 is available from June 14 - August 7. Log the minutes you read to earn badges and rewards. You will receive a prize at 12 hours and at 24 hours. Read a total of 24 hours to be entered in the Teen Grand Prize Drawings. The Teen Grand Prize Drawings include: a $25.00 Amazon gift card, a pair of Out of Print Socks, a tote from Out of Print, and books.

Adults

Tails and Tales Adult Summer Reading
The Tails & Tales Adult Summer Reading Program for ages 18 and over is available from June 14 – August 7. This challenge for adults can be completed through our Beanstack app. Prize drawings will take place every two weeks and a grand prize drawing at the end for two Tampa Bay CityPASS tickets. The more bi-weekly challenges you complete (up to four), the more chances you have at the grand prize!
