Please be advised on January 22, 2019, City of Safety Harbor City Commission approved a Contract with Kamminga & Roodvoets, Inc. to perform new construction of sanitary sewer and force main pipe for the capital improvement project, IFB 2018-13, North Bayshore Sanitary Sewer and Force Main Replacement Project.
Please refer to attached Exhibits showing proposed construction locations. The project will include replacing 4-inch sanitary sewer force main with new 6-inch sanitary sewer force main, replacing old 8-inch clay sanitary pipe with new 8-inch PVC SDR-35 sanitary sewer pipe, and replacement of sanitary sewer manholes, sanitary cleanouts and sanitary laterals.
The proposed work will take place along North Bayshore Drive from Church Street to Hamilton Avenue, and on Church Street from Philippe Parkway to North Bayshore Drive.
Intersection closures are expected on Philippe Parkway and Church Street. Notification by variable message boards will be present one (1) week before closures begin. Partial road closures are anticipated on North Bayshore Drive. Signage and flaggers will direct traffic accordingly.
As part of its ongoing sanitary sewer rehabilitation and repair program, the City has identified these areas for immediate repair due to the poor condition of the existing pipe; thus the need to replace the pipe in lieu of performing continuous maintenance. The new sewer mains will be installed by open cut method of construction. Please note that restoration of asphalt, concrete curbing, driveway and sidewalks will be performed by the Contractor throughout the project, and maintenance of traffic will be in progress throughout the construction period.
Construction shall commence February 25, 2019, and the project is anticipated to be complete within 300 days. Please note that work hours are limited to weekdays from 7 AM to 6 PM. No work will occur between the hours of 6 PM and 7 AM on any day, or at any time on Sunday (per City of Safety Harbor’s Code of Ordinances, Chapter 15, Section 15.03).
If you have any questions regarding this project, please call John Powell, City Engineer, at 727.724.1555, Ext. 1805.
