Join the Safety Harbor Museum Board in celebrating the vibrant history of Safety Harbor as they unveil a historical marker at the site of the town's first country store and post office. In 1889 the family home was relocated from Odet Philippe’s citrus grove to become a pivotal part of Grand Central Avenue, Safety Harbor’s business center of the late 1800s.

This location has witnessed the town's evolution. The site was originally home to Odet Philippe’s youngest daughter, Melanie, and her husband, Richard Booth. In 1890, under the stewardship of Sydney Seymour Youngblood, it housed Safety Harbor’s inaugural post office and country store, marking the beginning of community and commerce.

As we commemorate the legacy of those who shaped our community, we invite you to the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Experience the unveiling of the historical marker that honors a past enriched with dedication, innovation, and community spirit.
