Get ready for another amazing Park & Recreation Month!

Are you ready for the best month of the year? Since 1985, the United States has celebrated July as Parks & Recreation Month to recognize all the parks and recreation professionals – along with part-time & seasonal workers combined with volunteers – who maintain our local parks and provide programs to build a strong, vibrant, and resilient, community through the power of Parks & Recreation. The Safety Harbor Leisure Services department plays a vital role in the quality of life for our residents and visitors. The Leisure Services Department overarching goals are Community, Health, Economic Development, and Environment. We accomplish our goals daily through our events, programs, opportunities, and preservation of our parks. The July theme this year is “Where You Belong” and celebrates the many ways park and recreation professionals foster a sense of belonging in our own community by providing welcoming and inclusive programs, essential services for all ages and abilities, and safe accessible spaces to build meaningful connection. We encourage our residents and visitors to share how Parks & Recreation have improved their lives on social media by using #WhereYouBelong.

July celebrates Park & Recreation month and the Safety Harbor Leisure Services department wants to hear from you!
