This service allows you to file your 2024 federal tax return online, for free, directly with the IRS, without using third-party software or websites. Eligibility to participate in the pilot will be limited to filers with relatively simple tax returns reporting only certain types of income and claiming limited credits and deductions. To see if you're eligible to participate, visit the IRS Direct File website to check your eligibility.
