Impact Fee Update

New development within the City of Safety Harbor is subject to adopted impact fees at time of permit issuance. The City of Safety Harbor City Commission adopted impact fees between 1976 to 1990.   These include: 1) sewer; 2) sanitation; 3) public safety (fire); 4) library; 5) park; and, 6) parkland. Developments containing five (5) or more dwelling units are subject to a parkland impact fee. These impact fees have not been updated since they were originally adopted.

In addition, the city has Mobility (transportation) impact fee, that is coordinated with Pinellas County.  This impact fee was last updated in 2016. In 2023, the City of Safety Harbor hired a consultant to update all of the city’s impact fees, except the mobility impact fee.

A City Commission workshop is scheduled on May 1, 2023 at 6:00 pm in the City Commission Chambers regarding the impact fee update.
